Although painting is the primary expression medium in which she explores, questions and expands her own horizons, Tatjana Politeo has been designing and creating a variety of useful and decorative objects belonging to the field of applied art. A rich color-coded manuscript, a specific corpus of used materials and recognizable leitmotifs from painting surfaces are materialized into diverse, creative, fresh and innovative items such as necklaces, brooches, vases and toys. The most recognisable among them is the Hello mouse, recast from a painting canvas into a friendly, simplified, and visually appealing mouse silhouette made of plexiglass. Apart from being stylized as a vase, a necklace or a brooch, this friendly little mouse can be printed onto clothing and other items, making it a recognizable sign in space that has also become the author’s signature.
